I sold the 35"s

I sold the 35s 15" rims.
I got tired of messing around with the trying to shoehorn them in. I don't want new tires... I would like to buy some used 315s and buy other things with the savings. Like shocks, sliders & rear cargo storage.

I did however buy some Doetsch tech front shocks that will give me 2.5" more drop at the tire I'm hoping 5" more. I will keep you posted.

I'm at the point in the build that I'm thinking about how to get all that cool camping stuff in the back of the tight little ride. Plus the space consuming spare tire.

As for now I still do dream of the hardcore dream build of a fj something, I just like the J4 body of the landcruiser.
Recently I have thought of something  I will call FJ40X for extra.

Well I did it in photoshop...

Hacken off the front bumper wings.

I got a really great deal on this front bumper & can't complain but I just could not get use the the wings protecting the head lights. The easiest thing the do was to just cut them off. I can weld something back on later.

No more stink bug look!

My little ride was looking like a stink bug, so lifted the front with a 1" spring spacer.

Started rear bumper install...

I got this bumper used & the way it was made required the rear cross member to be cut off. Hacken up the Cruiser...

I still cut 1.5" more after this picture.

My new to me front and rear bumpers lx450 fj80

I came across these bumpers for a super deal. The Lord is good to me. I didn't have a way to get the front home with out putting it on so I had to do a quick and dirty mount. (I will fix the sheet metal later) I believe it is for a fj80 rather than a fzj80 for the fact I had to cut metal for the AC dryer. Does anyone know these bumpers?

Front & rear bumper removel

Getting ready for some bumpers... I just have a feeling some are come'n my way...

The Cruisers 1st family trip...

We took the Cruiser two hrs south to the Pismo/Oceano dunes in California just a quick run in the dunes. I was lazy & left the tires fully aired up. I was pretty impressed.  It did very well. I really didn't need the lockers,  but it did make it stay on top of the sand a bit better.
My family said they liked the whoop sections the best.

Spare tire mod

So, I did a 3" spare tire mod the other day.

Thanks goes out to all the mud folks that has done it & posted it before me.
I went with 10 4" inch x 1.25 bolts & 3" pipe nipples.
The 3" made it kind of go past level.

Next is a 6" wide wheel & a pizza cutter tire like a Q78 mudder or a 34x9.5 swamper. Any body have those for sell cheap local near 93210 area?
