4x4Him.com Club Teen Ranch Run to Bald Mtn.
I was able to make another Run to Bald Mtn. Every year the 4x4Him.com club brings up troubled teens to go 4 wheeling. I was able to participate this year & had a great time.
@ToyotaDon you were truly missed by many that day.

How I did my 80 series floor heater bypass fzj80 fj80 lc80 lx450
I found a leak below the Lx last week & knew immediately it was one of the floor heater hoses finally giving way. It also proves the heater valve is leaking bye. I've suspected to be since the passenger side floor has been unusually warm this summer. I've seen this bypass done by many on ih8mud.com so it was a easy fix. Steve @baldilocks just did it on his "White Rino" & was well documented... thanks Steve.
I even did a silly vid so all can see just how easy it is to complete the job. Granted leaning over the engine bay is never easy & even a pain, I mean its a one banana job. Just one more thing, since I have body lift I did not loose but a little antifreeze.
Hope this helps. Enjoy
Later.

The Orange Metal Tech 80 on 37" Iroks
I would like to pay Tribute to one of the original pioneer's of the 80 series, this awesome 80 was built by Mark of Metal Tech 4x4 (www.metaltech4x4.com), it's a 1993 fzj80 & I believe was one of the 1st 80s on 37" tires. Mark also pioneered front cut fenders.
I contacted Mark to get the specs of this rig & here is some of his reply:
That’s cool! Thank you for this. It is a great truck for sure. It also drove amazing on the road, yet ran the Rubicon with no issues. Perfect balance right at the limits of what a full bodied 80 can do in both areas of street and trail.
Mark
Specs are as follows:
5.5" of lift.
Old Man Emu 850J/863J plus MT 2" front coil spacer which lowers bump stops down 2".
Bump stops 2" in front & 3" in rear.
Prototype Metal-tech 4x4 Castor correction plates set at 4*
2.5" Radflo remote res. shocks all 4 corners (Protos for the 80 w/ this lift)
37" Iroks on MRC 17x9 3"BS Beadlocks. (w/4 golf balls inside each tire for balance)
ARB front bumper / Warn 9.5XP winch
Prototype Metal-tech 4x4 Sliders
Prototype Metal-tech 4x4 bolt on rear corner guards
Front and rear ARB Air Lockers w/5.29 gears (Removed E-lockers and swapped front axle to non-Elockers
If anyone has more pictures, info or has any great stories or tall tales to tell about wheeling with Mark & his orange machine please feel free to reply.
I hope you all have enjoyed this post & I look forward to your replies.

4x4Him.com Rock Hopper Roundup 2017
We had a blast hanging out with the 4x4Him Club (4x4Him.com) at their 11th annual Rock Hopper Roundup.
The family had such a great time they want to go next year.
I'm hoping this will be a annual trip for us.
We made a night run to the tower on Friday night then on Saturday we choose the Red Lake Run for lunch. It took 8 hours to get there & back.
At base camp they had a bounce house, dinner & a evening movie.
All together it was a great trip.
Also to mention there was a good showing of the 80 series, four in all.

New Trail Gear winch plate
Here it is... I don't have a winch yet so I mocked up a battery pack. I need to also mount a power steering cooler somewhere??? There is a lot of room on the plate so why not? The plate is 50lbs.
I'm not done, its a work in progress...
I will cut down my bumper a bit more then bolt it on top of the winch plate.

I had all these grand thoughts of writing up a great entry about our trip but life & time just slips bye.
I had all these grand thoughts of writing up a great entry about our trip but life & time just slips bye.
So here is the quick & dirty entry... Donal & I finally where able to go wheelin together & it so happened to be the same weekend as the MoonLight Madness Event on Bald Mountain near Shaver Lake, CA
We where able to pre run the loop Friday the day before the other 400 rigs got there the next day. I counted a total of six 80 series up there that weekend.
I had a great time, I slept in the back of the Lx for the 1st time, it work out pretty good.

Head For the Hills Fresno Club 2017 in Blue Canyon
We headed For the Hills a 3 hour drive early Saturday morning to Blue Canyon for the Fresno 4x Club Run it was a very long day, but we'll worth it. As my oldest kid & I were walking around talking with people before the start we came across two other 80 series owners that are actually on the ih8mud.com forum that I use. So we did the run together along with two Yota rigs. It was a great time of wheelin & talking about wheelin. It was a long day but went buy fast... does that make sence? Here is some pics & vid. Enjoy.
